Membership Information

Important Notice:

All guests except the 1st time guests will be charged RMB 5 Yuan for each visit.

Non-Toastmaster Guests are allowed to attend Toastmasters at RMB 5 Yuan each time, in order to recuperate part of costs to rent the meeting venue. You will see how the program works, and to be given an opportunity to decide if they would like to join. Guests are invited to take part in the Table Topics portion of the program to practice his/her public speaking skills. It is highly recommended that you read A Toastmasters Wears Many Hats before you visit our meeting.

Visitors from other Toastmasters clubs are always welcome to our meetings and are welcome to participate in our Table Topics portion of the program. The same charge of RMB 5 Yuan each time will apply. With a written notice from your home club (email or fax) stating that you are a paid member in good standing, we can let you participate in roles reserved for members of the club.

New Members - After you have attended our meeting as a guest and participated in the Table Topics session, you should complete a membership application and inform Vice President of Membership, to become a member of this club. Please click here to see the contact for Chengdu Toastmasters. Relevant Toastmasters' materials and references will be sent to you after we receive your membership application information.

After you file the application form, our VP Membersip will arrange you with one to two minute to speak to the club and inform the members of your desire to join and the benefit you hope to achieve through your membership. The club members will then vote on accepting you as a full member. You will be informed by email before the next meeting of the outcome of the vote, and after paying fee, as mentioned below, you will become a full member.

Transferred, Reinstated, or Dual Members - If you have continued full membership in another Toastmasters club, and you want to transfer to Chengdu Toastmasters club, a reference letter, fax or email, by a club officer of your previous club is required. If your membership has lapsed, you must complete all of the steps toward new membership and pay the New Member Fee. Membership Fees

To register as a member in Chengdu Toastmasters, people must pay a membership fee according to the table below. Renewal of membership will be RMB240 for every subsequent 6 month period. In addition, all new members must pay a one-time New Member Registration Fee of RMB200.

* Membership dues of September and March include dues of that month and renewal dues for the next 6 month period.

Explanation of fees

A new member will pay up to a total of RMB480. Of these fees, approximately 70% go to Toastmasters International for registering you as a member, as well as providing all of your materials, and a monthly subscription to the Toastmasters magazine. The remaining is required by the club to cover costs of club operation, such as buying necessary materials and supplies for the club, renting meeting venue, etc.

Chengdu Toastmasters is a non-profit educational club. None of our officers or members is paid for their efforts.
